Ruby grew up in Cheshire and undertook her integrated Master’s degree with Industrial Experience at the University of Manchester. During her third year, she completed an industrial placement at Unilever, working as a formulation chemist within the Deodorants Research and Development Technical Centre. Upon returning to Manchester, Ruby joined the Crisenza group, where her research focused on the development of new synthetic methodologies for the oxidative cleavage of unsaturated C=C bonds. Ruby has remained in the Crisenza group for her PhD studies, having been awarded a BBSRC North West Doctoral Programme PhD studentship. Her research focuses on the development of new electrosynthetic strategies to access covalent warheads and their application in the development of electrochemically activated prodrugs, under the co-supervision of Prof. Sam Butterworth.

In her free time, Ruby enjoys cooking, singing, and spending time with friends in sunny places.
