Isabella Iglesias Sutcliffe
MChem Student
Isabella grew up in São Paulo (Brazil) before moving to South London and is now completing the final year of her MChem degree at the University of Manchester. For her third-year research project, she worked under the supervision of Dr Carl Poree, where she designed and synthesised chiral DPEphos-type ligands for regio- and enantioselective Kumada cross-coupling reactions. For her final-year project, Isabella has joined the Crisenza group, where she is investigating new strategies for metal-free C(sp2)–N bond formation through a visible-light-driven Chapman rearrangement.Outside the lab, Isabella enjoys cooking, knitting, and reading.
