Ben is from Newton Abbot (Devon), and he is currently attending the fourth year of his Master's degree at the University of Manchester. During his third year, Ben participated to a research project investigating transition metal-catalysed C–C bond-forming protocols for the manipulation of alkynes. In 2023, Ben joined the Crisenza group for his MChem project: here, his research focuses on the development of electrosynthetic methods for the di-functionalization of olefins.

Outside of labs, Ben enjoys basketball, climbing and running.
